Though Ugly Betty is infamous for the multiple, notable guest stars, this is one for the books. According to FOX411, Liza Minnelli, Broadway and Hollywood veteran, will begin filming her role next week, which will be played out as a part of the cast later this season.

Acting as a high school drama teacher to Justin, played by actor Mark Indelicato, this 63-year-old will be working on this ABC comedy-drama in Brooklyn, New York.

As an Ugly Betty follower, you can prepare for an intense, positive addition to the cast as Minnelli is set to cast Lena Korvinka, a character who will be outrageously entertaining to watch. And even better, Minnelli will be filming for an abnormally long time frame of January 28th through February 12th.

According to sources, rumors flowed last year and early January of this year that Liza already planned to do the show. Contradicting, however, Ugly Betty producers hadn’t offered her this opportunity until after this.

Regardless of the show changing to a new air-time of Wednesday, this season’s ratings have begun to plummet. It is the hopes of the Ugly Betty cast and crew that an appearance from Minnelli will make all the difference.
