Ferrera will be starring in an upcoming movie with a very heavy story line. The movie entitled “ The Dry Land” is a story about a Texas soldier returning from Iraq. The soldier happens to be experiencing post traumatic stress brought about by the environment in his work. The movie will take part in the Sundance Film Festival and will be released sometime in September.

In an interview Ferrera said that her character in the movie will be looking for her one true love. The moment she found out that her partner has returned she goes and looks for him. But then, the moment they meet, she sees something in his eyes that she could not relate with, something that she could not penetrate in, something that her partner does not want her to get involved in to.

Just recently, Ferrera attended the screening of “The Dry land” which was held in Boise. The movie is produced by the very famous Heather Rae, who actually is a local of Boise.

The movie is directed by Ryan Piers Williams. It also happened that Williams wrote the story line of the film. The movie is getting positive feedbacks from critics, especially families of military people. Williams is actually asking US Army to endorse the film to its people.

In an interview, Williams said that he gave a copy of the script of the movie to the US Army. They were very accommodating and said that they were open to the idea and would give the help Williams needed of them.

Ferrera believes that the movie is a way to speak out the situation of the soldiers coming back from war. It is an eye-opener to all the military families.
