Claire Meade (Judith Light)
Claire Meade is the Senior Vice President of the Meade Publications. She is also the founder and the editor-in-chief of the Hot Flash magazine. Meade is trying to recover from her addiction which she was once an alcoholic. Meade is very intimidated with Bradford who had a twenty year long affair with the previous editor in chief of Mode who is Fey Sommers. Meade told Betty that she is the one responsible for killing Fey and she is thinking of leaving the country to escape the charges against her for the crime she committed.
When finally, the real owner of Mode was revealed, which is actually Claire, Wilhelmina acted on having Bradford leave Claire by choosing to have an affair with him. This made Claire decide to escape the prison to stop whatever evil plans Wilhelmina has for the future. However, Claire did not succeed and had to wait for the murder trial. Fortunately she was found not guilty when it was proven that Claire has been under the influence of a perfume which is very poisonous. This caused the insane actions of Claire which eventually led to murdering Fey. Since she left prison, Claire started a new life by putting up her own magazine called Hot Flash.
Judith Light portrays the role of Claire Meade. Judith portrayed the role of Karen Wolek in the soap opera entitled One Life to Live and the sitcom Who’s the Boss.
